Everything that you experience when your'e here is the result of our members efforts. Many members volunteer as train crews, others prefer to work in our well equipped maintenance shop repairing locomotives and rolling stock, and some prefer to spend time maintaining the grounds, track, bridges, signalling systems, and buildings.
You don't need to be a railway employee to be a member. In fact, very few of our members are in the railway business - they've come from a wide range of occupations, including: accountants, architects, broadcast employees, civil engineers, contractors, electricians, lawyers, marine engineers and geologists, to name a few. Whatever your background, you too can participate!
As a member you'll be trained in our railway operations and eventually, with some effort on your part, you'll be able to drive our steam locomotives. If you've an interest in metal work, we can train you in how to safely operate the various machines in our workshop so that you can not only help repair our equipment, but have a chance to build your own project.
So, if you'd like to be a member, please fill out the application form, below, and mail it to us, or drop by when we are open and leave it with one of our members.
We'd love to welcome you to our society!
